Who’s behind the SaaS Helper?
I'm Massimo, a designer based in Italy with 5 years of experience, specializing in UX/UI design. For the past 3 years, I've worked remotely with tech teams worldwide, focusing on web and mobile platforms.
The engineers best friend
Being a solo designer in a teams of engineers has been my habitat for most of my career. This experience has been invaluable to my growth as a designer, as it required me to ensure my work aligned with technical requirements and to communicate clearly to bridge the gap between design and engineering. As a design partner I bring all my previous experience to ensure seamless communications with your engineers.
Designs that meet technical constraints
Documentation handoff to ensure accurate implementation
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic front-end development concepts
Building bridges between design and development
Having worked as a solo designer in tech teams, I had to get creative and find ways to effectively communicate with developers, ensuring that my designs met technical requirements. This motivated me to create interfaces that are not only user-friendly but also quick and straightforward to implement.
You often hear about conflicts between designers and developers, and debates about who should do what for whom. Personally, I enjoy being a reliable partner who makes life easier for those I work with. Because what’s good for the team is ultimately good for me as well.
Why design matters for SaaS startups
Design is not just my career but also the way I chose to help startups. Learn why it matters and how it can effect the effectiveness of your team and the quality of your product.
People buy products that make their lives easier. You actually need to build a product that is unique and that can speak to a particular audience in a very specific way by addressing their needs. And that’s where design can help. Design is not just about pushing pretty pixels but it’s a resource to craft a product that your users actually want to buy. It’s a way to take them from struggling to their desired situation.
It helps your product differentiate from competitors
The SaaS industry is extremely competitive and although studying the competition can help you surely won’t you stand out just by doing that. There are a lot of options out there and a lot of them are battling for the same position. Don’t be just another option that is battling for the lower price. You can use design to mold the perception of your users and take that soft spot in their hearts.
It can speed up the process
Often times your developers waste time on tasks that are more design related meanwhile they could be focusing on doing the things that matter the most: ship a product faster. I get it. Sometimes the budget doesn’t allow you to go that extra mile and you are trying to do the most with the least. But a designer can help you achieve your goals faster and create systems that will allow engineers to save tons of time.
